Kris Nowicki [a.k.a. Joel HaLevi Nowicki] (1977), a Polish choir conductor, a composer and a vocalist (Baritone). Nowicki's first music teacher was his grandfather who was a horn player. Born in 1977 Nowicki formally began learning alto saxophone at age ten. He later studied choir conducting under the Polish conductor Janusz Stanecki at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz (Poland). Further musical education Nowicki received from Daniel R. Craig (Negro Spiritual and Gospel Music), Susan Moninger (Jazz Vocal Groups), Jacob Ben-Zion Mendelson (Cantorial Singing, Idiom of Chazzanut), and Junita Lampreht (Cross-rythms in African Music).
