P.L.F. Aimon
Léopold Aimon (04/10/1779 - 02/02/1866), a French composer and cellist (born in Lisle). In his youth he conducted in Marseille. From 1821 he was in Paris. Léopold Aimon received his musical training from his father, Esprit Aimon, a cellist. At the age of 17, Aimon was conductor at the Marseille theater. In 1817 he moved to Paris and in 1821 became orchestra leader at the "Gymnase Dramatique" and in 1822 at the Comédie-Française, a position he held until 1832. After that he devoted himself exclusively to composition and teaching.
