Ignaz Mitterer (02/02/1850 - 02/08/1924), an Austrian church composer (from St. Justina). In 1874 ordained as a priest, 1882-1885 conductor at Regensburg Cathedral, 1885-1917 conductor at Brixen Cathedral; one of the main representatives of the Austrian Cecilian movement; numerous honours (1905 honorary citizen of Brixen, 1906 Monsignor, 1917 canon).

This Missa pro defunctis in A flat major (probably his Op.20) also called "Posaunenrequiem" composed in Dölsach near Linz in 1879/1880. The Requiem is written for four voices mixed choir and four trombones. The movements are:
